Micro Niche Finder Reviews - Some Words about it All

September 12th, 2009 at 5:42 am (Commerce Success, Hall Of Marketing, Sales, Sales Mart)

In essence affliliate marketing is similar to a consignment shop. Merchandise is pushed on your website in return, you receive a percentage from every lead. There is less time involved, fewer overheads, it works 24/7, and it is simple to pick up.

At the start, you must decide just what area you’d like to specialize in. To do this, discover what specific solutions to a given problem a specific group of people are going through, and what solutions will help them. A good way of accomplishing this is looking for unique sets of highly drilled down longtail keywords and phrases; generally people search for these less, but they will convert far more into sales. If you want to find these profitable keywords, use Micro Niche Finder or software like it. Data collected by this program or other applications and software packages compiles associated words and phrases in an extensive list format that you may target in order to get top spot on internet searches.

Micro Niche Finder information will in addition recount how many searches each word or phrase gets, the exact number of other sites using the particular word or phrase, and details on the competition too. Ultimately, the info returned can identify appropriate domains, help you put together your internet site, and identify desirable items for you to sell.

Now it’s time to build a web site; but you’ll obviously have to do a bit more than simply that. Search engine optimization is absolutely fundamental. Here SEO Elite information are helpful. Your rivals’ web sites are analyzed by SEO Elite information which then offers suggestions to increase search engine rankings.

With programs such as SEO Elite, information created by the program indicates where you might find pertinent links, which words to concentrate on, and even information on where to submit articles. Succinctly, SEO Elite information is the same kind of suggestions you might get if you confer with a skilled SEO specialist.

Once you know what niche you want to focus on, set up some advertising, and your web site has been constructed, it is time to get your internet site up in the search results. The profits will roll in regularly and you’ll wonder why you always struggled to make enough money!

The Unlimited Power of Joint Ventures

July 12th, 2008 at 1:11 am (Hall Of Marketing)

We all love traffic, right? The more we have the better.
Never can have enough of it.

And if we have free traffic, and an extra candy with it,
such as the word “targeted” added to it, then we’re in
heaven (almost there anyway, because St. Paul technically
has not provided us with a free pass to the Golden Gates,
lol).

You can change St.Paul for Buddha and heaven for nirvana if
you wish, or use another allegory which better suites your
religion or belief. The fact remains the same - to succeed
on the Internet, we need a truckload of targeted traffic,
and it’s much better if it’s free or at least inexpensive.

So the real question is how we can achieve this internet
marketing heaven. I’m familiar with several major
“passwords” providing the pass to the Gates - Search Engines
and Search Directories, Pay-Per-Click Search Engines, Joint
Ventures, Auctions, Link Exchanges, Forums and Newsgroups,
and of course Blogging, Pinging and other RSS-related
technologies
.

I love RSS, it’s possibilities are endless. Old email
system, sadly enough, is dying because of all the spam
floating around. These days ISPs go nuts to stop anything
that even smells like spam. Don’t get me wrong. I am not
encouraging spammers in any way, but legitimate marketing
business suffers significant losses because of all these
anti-spam filters. And RSS easily eliminates most of the
problems… However, this time RSS is not our main theme of discussion. We sure will return to it later, again and
again.

And I didn’t mention List Building yet, did I? Well,
actually, List Building, in my humble opinion, is not even a password to the pass - it’s the only key to the Gate. No
list - no game. Sorry.

All these techniques should serve one purpose - no, not to
make a sale, but to help you build HIS HIGHNESS LIST.

Why? If you direct your traffic to a sales page, you may or
may not close the deal. And even if you do close it, it will
be one-time-only you-got-lucky-this-time event.

Even if you’re selling high-ticket items, the life time
value of your customer is much higher then the price of any
particular sale.

You should treat your subscribers with respect, always
giving them useful information, unique deals, discounts and
freebies. Don’t sell them crap only because you want to make
a few extra dollars. List is your virtual “real estate”,
your most valuable internet marketing property.

Is there anybody else you should treat with even more
respect than your subscribers? You probably think I would
say “NO”. But the answer is -”YES!”. There is only one
category of people to whom you should pay even more
attention in your business practices. I’m talking about Your
Joint Venture partners.

These are the people with whom you should communicate on
one-on-one basis. No broadcasting, only personal e-mail,
chat, forum, call, or whatever. They deserve to have each
your new product free, they deserve the highest commission,
and the opportunity to start market your product with a
special pricing, the lowest you offer for this product. May
be you even should allow them to market it a few days
earlier, before you release it to the public, and even
BEFORE YOU START MARKETING IT YOURSELF!

So who are those hand-picked people? These are recognized
internet marketing experts who have the broad access to the niche market for your product, in most cases they already
have lists of their own (or at least are building their
lists).

Before starting your business relationship with
them, you want to make sure that you’re “on the same page”
regarding ethical questions… I wouldn’t go into much
details here, we all know the ropes - are they trustworthy,
team players or self-centered, focused on one time deals
with you or on lasting relationships, and so on, and so
forth.

Always be on a lookup for new partners, you never know when
you can meet them. Efficient JV-marketing is one of the very effective ways to skyrocket your business.

The Future of the Internet is Now: An Internet Pioneer Looks to 2006

June 1st, 2008 at 11:56 am (Hall Of Marketing)

Let me cut right to the chase:
Video on the Internet…

It’s been percolating so long, it’s
easy to underestimate two things
about it:

1. How fast it’s coming

2. The profound impact it’s going to
have on the Internet.

As I write this, it’s Christmas season
2005.

My prediction is that by this time
next year, the biggest story in
the media will be about how
video took over the Internet.

It’s going to happen that fast
- and it’s going to be that huge.

How can I be so sure?

I’ve seen it happen before.

Eleven years ago, I organized
and sponsored the first seminar
ever held on the subject of marketing
on the web.

It was in San Francisco and Marc
Andreessen, the inventor of the
web browser, was our keynote
speaker.

As enthusiastic as we were about
the web, we both totally underestimated
how fast and how powerfully the web
was going to grow.

And that’s when the web was just
print and pictures.

Imagine the power of making video
clips available on every subject under
the sun, on demand, instantly available to
Internet users.

Video will swamp text, the same
way television swamped radio
and newspapers.

Video won’t eliminate print and
picture web sites, just like
television didn’t eliminate radio,
but video web sites will very
quickly find themselves ‘king
of the hill’ in every niche they
enter.

For example:

Sports? Do you want to watch
the play of the week - or read
about it?

Weather? Do you want to see
the path of the hurricane or blizzard
in real time - or read about it?

Shopping? Do you want to see
how a new gadget actually works
- or do you want to read about it?

Whatever aspect of the Internet
you’re involved in, now’s the time
to step back and take some ‘thinking
time.’

If you could wave a magic wand
and use video any way you want
on your web site, how would you
use it?

This is not an exercise in make believe.

It’s preparation for a very real and
very fast approaching future.

Brainstorming with Props - “Goodie Bags” and The WSJ

May 24th, 2008 at 2:17 am (Hall Of Marketing)

When developing new strategies or products, coming up with
unique ideas is often a struggle. It is one of the reasons
why, in any industry, there is so much repetition. One way
to generate new ideas and “get the creative juices flowing”
is by brainstorming using props. There are several ways to
incorporate props into a session. Two of my favorites are
the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and goodie bags.

~~~~~~~~
What is Brainstorming?
~~~~~~~~

According to dictionary.com, brainstorming is:
1) A method of shared problem solving in which all members
of a group spontaneously contribute ideas or
2) A similar process undertaken by a person to solve a
problem by rapidly generating a variety of possible
solutions.

In action, brainstorming should be uncensored - no idea is
dumb or impossible. In an organization, throw titles out the
window. The janitor’s ideas have the same validity as the
CEO’s. When brainstorming, try to pretend you know nothing
about what can and cannot be done. Write down ideas as they
come up, no matter how outlandish. The task at hand is to
free-associate, generating as many ideas as possible.

~~~~~~~~
Brainstorming with “Goodie Bags”
~~~~~~~~

There’s nothing more boring than a sterile conference room.
Yet, this is where many group sessions take place. To liven
the atmosphere, you need a springboard…stimuli to get the
ideas flowing.

One way to provide stimuli is to gather miscellaneous items
into “goodie bags” and have group members sort through them,
writing down ideas as they come up. When I worked as the
seasonal Marketing Manager for Nestlé’s Sunmark Division, I
used this technique to hold a very productive Easter
brainstorm session. I filled the bags with small items I
thought may stimulate ideas because of their texture, taste,
appearance, ingredients, sound, or smell.

In the meeting, I divided the team into sub-groups of three
to four people and gave each a bag. After going through the
bags, discussing, and writing down ideas, each group gave a
small presentation. We came out of the meeting with many
more great ideas than we could implement that year - and it
was fun!

Goodie bags can also be used to generate ideas for new
online product and services as well as for new marketing
strategies.

~~~~~~~~
Brainstorming with The WSJ
~~~~~~~~

If you do not have a group to work with, try using a
business newspaper as a springboard for generating ideas.
The Wall Street Journal (Both WSJ Online and the offline
newspaper.) is great for brainstorming for several reasons:

- It always contains articles about several industries (Good
for coming up with ways to apply new approaches to your own
industry.).
- The paper has a regular e-commerce section.
- There is a daily marketing section.
- The editors include a mix of short articles (Good for
generating ideas based on what others are doing.) and in-
depth reports (Good for ideas that grow from trends.).
- All the articles relate in some way to business, but are
not strictly news reporting. There are human interest and
analytical pieces as well.

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal has done an excellent
job of integrating the Internet into a traditional business
model. Besides offering both online and offline newspaper
versions, there are several email alert services. Because
they have successfully integrated online marketing into
their own business, WSJ writers and editors are able to
intelligently address both online and offline activities.

OK, let us do some quick exercises using The Wall Street
Journal. I have both an online subscription (with access to
30-day archives) and a print newspaper subscription, so I
will skim some articles…

* Here’s one (9/17/02, newspaper front page and WSJ online)
- WorldCom Lawyers are advertising in the white pages.

What about your company?…advertising in white pages…give
your products their own phone numbers…advertise the
numbers elsewhere…personalities for your
brands/services…mascots…root beer…separate sites for
each…etc.

Remember, *do not* censor - just play one idea off another
and write down *everything* that comes to mind. It doesn’t
matter if it is sensible or even relevant - just make sure
you write down enough clues so later you know what you were
thinking.

* Here’s another one (9/16/02 newspaper front page) - Snoop
Doggy Dog is reinventing himself.

It seems he has a new sound, new album, etc., etc. I also
think I remember he has done some acting in the past. In
order to keep the “Snoop Doggy Dog” brand fresh, he expands
into other categories. But notice he is still in the
“entertainment” industry - not venturing into industries
that are not a fit with his image. You can use this approach
as a springboard for your own business. Think of ways to
expand into other categories - to reinvent - while staying
in your same general area of expertise.

* Here’s a third (9/23/02 WSJ online special report):
According to a Harris Interactive Poll, more Americans want
to live in California than any other state.

For the first time in five years, Florida is *not* #1.
Hmmm…a changing American mind set? The springboard here is
to think of ways to apply this “California Dreamin’” to your
strategies and/or products.

More potential springboards from the 9/23/02 Website
homepage: Salomon Smith Barney gets fined $5 million for
issuing misleading research…Pepsi’s looking at healthy
snacks…customers distrust e-commerce sites…you get the
idea.

Whether brainstorming alone or in a group, remember two
rules - 1) no censoring and 2) use props as springboards for
new ideas. Do this and your brainstorming session is sure to
be a success.

Business Online Work From Home Income Passive Home Based: How’s That For A Search Term?

May 4th, 2008 at 3:34 pm (Hall Of Marketing)

So, when someone fires up a search engine and looks for “business online work from home income passive home based”, what is he really searching for?

Freedom.

This search term is a cry for help. I’ve felt the same way, and maybe you have too. I have good news. There’s help available.

Slapping up a website, “submitting” to search engines, and waiting for the checks to roll in sounds nice, but it’s pretty rare for somebody to replace an offline income that way. There’s a better strategy: reselling other people’s stuff.

You can do this (essentially) with affiliate sales, where you refer someone to somebody else’s product, in exchange for a commission.

You also can do it by purchasing resale rights to a product, then reselling it at your own website. A special flavor of resale rights (private label rights) gives you the added advantage of controlling 100% of the marketing for the product you’re selling. Marketing is what makes you money.

Resale rights and affiliate sales are two of the easiest ways to create essentially a passive income for yourself online. That’s what our frantic searcher really wants. That’s financial (and lifestyle) freedom.

Online wealth can be elusive. It’s easy to think that every single online “opportunity” is a scam. That’s not true. There are scams out there, but there also are real-life strategies for going from no product, no website and no list to having all of those things, probably much sooner than you expected.

Capitalize on the Lower Economy by Branching Out!

May 1st, 2008 at 5:23 pm (Hall Of Marketing)

Capitalize on the Lower Economy by Branching Out!

As a full-time professional web developer my income is derived from developing online business plans, designing websites, marketing websites, etc. Just over a year ago I noticed a growing number of people are taking advantage of the software and books and resources available to design their own websites…

Now this group is different than the first wave of do it yourself-er’s - you know, the frontpage/animation users that flooded the ‘net with all of that funky-looking and slow-loading junk with bad code. No, this new group is actually figuring out good basic html code, how to use decent graphics programs, purchasing some of the low-cost templated all-in-one packages - and kicking out some halfway decent stuff… and they are marketing them fairly well too!

So what does a professional Webmaster do when they notice this type of trend? CASH IN ON IT. I began publishing Self-Starters Weekly Tips each week - genuinely helping this group grasp it faster, do it better, and have more success with it. After all, I was a do-it-yourself’er - a self-starter - at one time myself (and still am in many ways!). Real quick this little publication became my passion… and a whole ‘nother stream of income for me.

It turned out to be the best business decision I’ve made in a long time… the long list of testimonials from happy subscribers alone makes it all worth it. I offer my information - my trade secrets, if you will - for free… and many of the resources are even free for the subscriber - things they didnt know about, that saved them tons of money in their start-up! I focus in on the free & easier methods, and ways they can get tools for 1/3 the price they’d normally pay…

… but all said & done I make approximately $100-$150/hour publishing.

If you’re struggling with the changing economy, imagine ways you can implement this strategy in your field!

The Cat’s Out of the Bag! Online Marketing = Unlimited Lead Potential for Skilled Contractors

April 27th, 2008 at 2:28 pm (Hall Of Marketing)

With the huge influx of home improvements in Canada within the last 15 years or so, contractors have more opportunity than ever to nab renovation and remodeling projects that require their area of expertise. This is especially true where online resources that match homeowner to contractor are concerned.

Why? Because prompt ad awareness and response is essential to being awarded top projects. Nowhere else are “contractors wanted” or “contractor for hire” advertisements more abundant than on web sites that cater to homeowners seeking qualified contractors

How Online Resources Benefit Contractors

It doesn’t matter whether the contractor lives in a rural setting, small town, or a large city with lots of competition. Their business is immediately buoyed and chances of attaining desirable leads greatly enhanced by becoming a member of an online resource that matches homeowner to contractor. This is true for several reasons:

1.) Time is saved - no need to scan newspaper classifieds or scout for possible leads around town. Contractors who become members of such online resources as Handy Canadian.com are e-mailed instant notification when new projects in their area within their specifications are posted.

2.) Money is saved- for one yearly or monthly membership fee, 7-day a week, 24-hour a day advertising is possible worldwide. Contractor profiles, areas of expertise, experience levels, and references by satisfied customers are instantly available to homeowners searching for just the right contractor for their project.

3.) Contractors have immediate credibility- skilled, qualified contractors who take their profession serious enough to register with an online contractor/homeowner matchmaking service attain instant credibility with homeowners.

4.) Homeowners prefer online resources that match homeowner to contractor - when it comes to locating a qualified contractor, homeowners prefer online resources. Besides being able to advertise their remodeling/renovation needs for free, they know only skilled contractors who have qualified for membership will be responding to their ad. Homeowners also have the opportunity to critique each contractor’s profile before making direct contact.

Online Marking - the Wave of the Future

Making big ripples present day, online marketing is the wave of the future.
With construction and contractual labor at an all time high, other media methods are fast becoming obsolete; not only are they more costly and time consuming. But oftentimes ineffective as well.

Prudent contractors who are serious about their profession will want to connect their business to a web site such as Handy Canadian.com. That’s because they realize the virtually unlimited exposure and lead potential afforded by online resources.

Max Sheppard is Co-Owner of HandyCanadian.com: where homeowners locate professional landscaping contractors, and qualifying contractors acquire new leads.

Google AdSense : Pitfalls and Alternatives

April 2nd, 2008 at 11:26 am (Hall Of Marketing)

Google AdSense, since its launch in mid-2003, has been a boon to web-publishers world-wide, allowing them to display a wide-array of advertisements that are relevant to the content of the site.

And for each click on the advertisement made by a visitor, the web-publisher is suitably compensated - from $0.01 to $1.00 and more per click. Several web-publishers have joined this bandwagon and there are many individuals earning from $1000 to $5000/month, with the exceptional ones pulling in $15,000-$40,000/month.

There are many good information sites about succeeding with Google Adsense on the web, and some excellent forums (webmasterworld.com, digitalpoint.com to name the best).

There are however some open issues with Google AdSense:

1. Click Fraud: Click Fraud occurs when some web-publisher fraudulently clicks on advertisements displayed on his or her own web-site, or automates this clicking process through a software program. Because of the increasing prevalence of this type of fraud, Google has become stricter - and has inadvertently kicked some legitimate web-publishers out of this program.

2. Ad Blocking: Some offices and similar work-environments are now actively blocking Google AdSense advertisements from showing on their browsers. Google has responded with server side publishing of ads for some large web-publishers. It is too early to tell if this trend of Ad Blocking will rise and seriously affect the number of impressions of Google Ads and corresponding income potential for web-publishers.

3. Poor Quality Websites: Owing to the low barrier of entry for web-publishers to display AdSense advertisements, several poor quality websites now freely display Google ads. This does not always please the advertisers, especially if their advertisements show up on adult or hate sites. The complaints have been consistent, but so far no particular action has been taken to raise the barrier to entry. This may happen in the future.

Of these, click fraud remains the largest, imminent issue facing Google AdSense, and the possibility for any web-publisher to be effectively barred from participation remains the biggest single point of failure for this system. Fortunately, alternatives do exist for web-publishers.

1. Yahoo! Publisher Network - Yahoo! has introduced its own equivalent program for web-publishers, the Yahoo! Publisher Network. This program is still young but maturing rapidly. You can participate in both the Yahoo! and Google programs simultaneously if you get approved for both.

2. If you have a reasonable amount of traffic and page views already, then ad-brokers such as BurstMedia, FastClick (now merged with ValuClick), Chitika, Kanoodle, AdBrite and so forth are available for displaying advertisements.

3. CPM (Cost per Thousand Impressions) models of advertising with banner ads, or page sponsorships continue to play a significant role in the web-publisher’s world.

4. If you are careful to collect e-mail addresses from visitors and develop a weekly e-zine, e-zine advertising remains a good option (once you have more than 1000 members on the list)

5. Affiliatships remain an important threat to Google AdSense. Well-written content on a website often brings good return traffic. However, this traffic is often interested in reading the content, rather than clicking on an advertisement. The content on the site is now acting effectively like an affiliate for the ads that do show up on the site. But real affiliateships pay much more than what a Google AdSense advertisement would. Google is becoming more sensitive to this by also tracking the conversion rate from a given website, and may potentially start serving higher paying, higher quality ads at those sites.

Thus, as a web-publisher and a smart business-person, do not rely on only one source of income, even if you follow an advertisement model. Keep the doors open to multiple sources of income.
